Digital Analytics Guide — Google integrations

Digital Analytics Guide, developed by Stéphane Hamel, supports digital analytics learning and practice. The site offers practical tools and the ClientLab and CaseLab educational plugins.

This public page explains the features that use a Google account. Google connection is optional; the connected tools require a digitalanalytics.guide account.

Three separate uses, authorized independently

Site sign-in: your name, email address and, when available, profile image identify your account. Signing in does not grant access to Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.

Profile Google Analytics integration: select a property accessible to your Google account to view its events, campaigns and measurement definitions in the site tools. Access is read-only.

ClientLab | Destination Québec cité: talk with Sophie (general management), Laurence (marketing and brand) and Antoine (business intelligence) in ChatGPT Work mode. The three characters are fictional and the simulation is independent of Destination Québec cité.

Only Antoine can, at your request, retrieve GA4 reports for properties 01a and 03 and the published GTM inventory for Borne and Explore. He uses your own Google account and permissions. Costs are excluded; revenue is permitted according to your access. Sophie and Laurence do not access Google.

Without a Google connection, after declining or without access to these resources, ClientLab continues with all three roles and its public corpus. Installing the plugin grants no access to Québec cité data.

Minimum permissions and read-only access

Sign-in permissions are openid, userinfo.email and userinfo.profile. Data access uses analytics.readonly and, for Antoine, tagmanager.readonly. No write, publishing, email or Google Drive file access is requested.

ClientLab’s GTM inventory exposes names, types and technical identifiers from the published version. Parameters, variable values, code and secrets are excluded. The presence of a tag does not prove it fired.

What is sent to ChatGPT

At your request, authorized ClientLab results are sent to OpenAI to produce the response in your ChatGPT conversation. Google tokens are never sent to ChatGPT or included in the ZIP. Results may remain in your conversation and can be copied by you.

Before accessing Google data in ClientLab, use a ChatGPT account or workspace that excludes it from model training. Check your account data controls and your organization’s rules. Do not include Google data in feedback intended for model training.

Digital Analytics Guide does not train any model with your Google data. The public simulation remains usable without sending GA4 or GTM data.

Connection, unlinking and support

Google tokens are encrypted on the server and isolated per user. You can unlink ClientLab and revoke permissions in your Google account settings. Retention and deletion details are described in our privacy policy.
